About me

First and foremost a pianist, I am also a multi-instrumentalist (accordion, vocals, trumpet), as well as a composer, improviser, producer, and arranger.

Expressing myself through many forms of music is quintessential to my passion for this art, as well as improvisation, both in the studio and live.

I'm currently creating a new solo show that will premier in the coming months. The repertoire was recorded while touring in livingrooms and will be released soon.

On stage, I perform jazz, song, improvisation, street performance, and cabaret.

As a member of the OH! Collective(a Strasbourg-based collective for off-the-beaten-path music), I perform and create with several groups, including La Tablée (Dream Weapon Orchestra ft. Fred Pallem), Les Résonances de Satie, (Parenthèses), and In Wonderland We Trust. I’ve been part of the Garçons Trottoirs since 2008, performing in over 500 shows; I’ve also appeared in the satirical revue at the Théâtre de la Choucrouterie since 2016, and on the street with the large-scale show Cristal Palace by the Transe Express company. I’ve had the chance to tour in about twenty countries.

In the studio, I am an instrumentalist, arranger, producer, sound engineer, and mixer.

In addition to my personal projects ( solo, Chroniques de l’Imaginaire, le Tricycle, In Wonderland We Trust…), I have contributed to and collaborated on over 40 albums which can be viewed on the dedicated page.

PLANNING, ARRANGING, MIXING, SELECTING… PRODUCING AN ALBUM REQUIRES A COMPREHENSIVE AND HOLISTIC VISION, AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO STEP BACK AND PUT YOURSELF AT THE SERVICE OF THE ARTISTIC VISION.

In recent years, I have directed Du Soleil dans l’Abîme by Paul & les Opportunistes, as well as Maîtres chansonniers by Les Garçons Trottoirs.

Music for film, music for stage productions, and theater soundtracks—the world of live performance allows me to take on wonderful creative commissions, such as the show Dérives by the Compagnie MangeNuage (sailing circus) and Marceau l’Alsacien (by Boutros el Amari at the Théâtre de la Choucrouterie), as well as the soundtrack for Trak, the latest production by the Système Paprika company.

Background

Born in 1986 in Nancy, I grew up in a family of musicians. I attended the Nancy Conservatory, where I studied piano and trumpet. As a teenager, I quickly felt the need to break away from the institution and see how things were done elsewhere. I was fascinated by the world of pop and jazz, and marveled at the musicians who played without sheet music. I started joining bands and was introduced to jazz in a class at the Conservatory that had just been created. I then moved on to the dance hall: pop on Saturday nights, musette on Sunday afternoons. My music life was fast paced all while keeping time with my life as a science student. At the time, I was torn between studying to become a sound engineer or pursuing a career as a musician. I took an entrance exam to enter into a sound engineering program that accepted only 9 students at a time. I came in 10th. Thus, I moved on and continued my musical studies. I enrolled at the Strasbourg Conservatory in the Improvisational Music class. I spent five years there studying under Eric Watson, an experience that was essential to my education. I quickly felt at home: we could experiment, try new things, write, tinker, improvise… I felt so at home in this new city that I stayed there. I've immersed myself completely in this universe : through constant observation and experimentation, touring, studio experience and even finding myself behind the controls... My education has been broad, my interests remain wide-ranging, and the adventure continues. More to come!
